KENTUCKY PUBLIC RADIO STATIONS FORM NETWORK
(Louisville, KY – June 27, 2012) Public radio stations in Kentucky have formed a new group to promote statewide collaboration and advocate for public broadcasting.
The by-laws for the new organization, called the Kentucky Public Radio Network (KPRN), were approved by public radio general managers at a meeting in Louisville on June 25th. “In these times, we believe that it is more important than ever for public radio stations in Kentucky to work together to preserve and expand our community service,” states Donovan Reynolds, President of Louisville Public Media.
One of the responsibilities of KPRN will be to administer the work of public radio’s state capital bureau in Frankfort.
The first slate of officers for the KPRN will be Donovan Reynolds (Louisville Public Media), chair of the board; Roger Duvall (WEKU, Richmond), vice-chair; Kate Lochte (WKMS, Murray), secretary; and Tom Godell (WUKY, Lexington), treasurer. Other charter members of the organization include WKYU, Bowling Green; WMKY, Morehead; and WNKU, Highland Heights.
