Louisville Public Media is proud to announce STOP THE STIGMA, an evening exploring mental health hosted by  91.9 WFPKFrazier History Museum and community partners. The event will take place on World Mental Health Day, Monday, Oct. 10, at the Frazier (829 W Main St.). Doors open at 5:30 p.m., the program begins at 6 p.m.

The open forum-style event will create a discussion and highlight the importance of shared personal stories to STOP THE STIGMA surrounding mental health. This event strives to create a welcoming and judgment-free environment facilitated by experts from our community.

“We’ve built an amazing community around WFPK ‘s on-air Mental Health Days,” WFPK Program Director Stacy Owen said. “Now, it’s time to continue the conversation face to face, share our mental health journeys in a safe and supportive space, and learn from mental health professionals here in Louisville.”

“The Frazier Museum is all in for any conversation discussing the well-being of our community,” said Rachel Platt, Frazier Director of Community Engagement. “Talking and learning are the best ways to “Stop the Stigma” of people dealing openly with mental health issues.”

Local partners participating in the discussion include:

The evening will culminate in a performance by  Jessica Willis Fisher, who will also provide exposition between songs about their own mental health journey.
